Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or your choice of protein
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite type)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 bag tater tots (approximately 32 oz)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the diced onion until the meat is browned and the onion is softened. Drain any excess fat.
- Mix the sauce: In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Once well mixed, add salt and pepper to taste. Stir the mixture into the beef and onions.
- Assemble the casserole: In a greased baking dish, layer the beef mixture evenly. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top, and finish by placing the tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
