Description

A hearty and sweet dish that combines the delightful flavors of honey and chicken, perfect for cozy fall dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken to the bowl, ensuring it’s fully coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for a more intense flavor.
  2. Preheat Your Oven or Grill: If you’re using an oven, preheat it to 375°F (190°C). If grilling, prepare your grill as you heat it up.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Place the marinated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or directly on your grill. Bake or grill for about 25-30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the chicken, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  4. Glaze the Chicken: In the last 5 minutes of cooking, baste the chicken with a bit more honey mixture to create a gorgeous glaze. This is a perfect time to sprinkle sesame seeds for added crunch!
  5. Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped green onions and serve alongside your favorite sides for a complete meal.

Notes

For the best flavor, allow the chicken to marinate longer; overnight is ideal. Broil for a crisp finish.
