Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ยฝ teaspoons salt
- ยฝ teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 ยฝ cups warm water (about 110ยฐF or 43ยฐC)
- Optional: 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: Herbs or spices (like rosemary, thyme, or garlic powder)
Instructions
- Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Add warm water and olive oil; stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl tightly and let it rise for 12 to 18 hours.
- Shape the dough on a floured surface and form a ball.
- Place the dough seam-side down on parchment paper and let it rise for another 1 to 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 450ยฐF (230ยฐC) with a Dutch oven inside.
- Remove the pot from the oven and transfer the dough into it, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.
