A hearty Kielbasa Sausage Cheesy Potato Casserole that combines tender potatoes and savory sausage in a creamy, cheesy embrace.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of kielbasa sausage, sliced into coins
- 4 cups of potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz) of cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup of milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Chopped fresh herbs for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer the ingredients: Place half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the dish, then half of the chopped onions, a layer of kielbasa sausage slices, and sprinkle half of the cheese on top. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Mix the sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then pour evenly over the layered ingredients.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
- Serve hot: Let it cool slightly, garnish with fresh herbs, and enjoy.
