Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the chicken: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season your chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
- Sear the chicken: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Add garlic: Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Create the sauce: Pour the heavy cream into the skillet, ensuring the chicken is mostly submerged. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Top with cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the chicken and cream mixture. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for approximately 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
