Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine the shredded chicken, marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Whisk the eggs and heavy cream together in another bowl until smooth.
- Layer half of the chicken mixture in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, followed by half of the egg and cream mixture, then half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Cooking chicken ahead of time makes assembly easy. This casserole can be prepared in advance and refrigerated until ready to bake.
