Description
A cozy and delicious autumn dish featuring tender chicken breasts bathed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (ensure it’s halal)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Green onions for garnish (optional)
- Cooked rice or quinoa for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish, and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for more flavor).
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the chicken marinates.
- Bake the Chicken: Place the marinated chicken breasts in a baking dish, pouring any leftover marinade over them. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Glaze for Extra Flavor: For a caramelized finish, switch your oven to broil and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning!
- Serve and Enjoy: Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve over cooked rice or quinoa, drizzled with the remaining sauce, and garnish with sliced green onions if desired.
Notes
For optimal flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Use fresh garlic for better flavor.
