A healthier alternative to traditional chicken nuggets, these High Protein Low Carb Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets are flavored with warm spices and cooked to crispy perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or a small amount of olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: In a bowl, combine the cut chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Make sure each piece is well-coated with the spices.
- Bread the nuggets: In one bowl, beat the egg. In another bowl, mix almond flour and Parmesan cheese. Dip each piece of seasoned chicken into the egg, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it evenly in the almond flour mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat for about 5 minutes.
- Cook the nuggets: Place the breaded chicken nuggets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray the nuggets lightly with cooking spray. Cook them for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
Notes
Ensure there’s space between nuggets in the air fryer basket for optimal crispiness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
