Description
A hearty and flavorful dish combining succulent chicken, spicy Cajun seasoning, and creamy rice, perfect for chilly evenings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of chicken breast, diced
- 1 cup of long-grain rice
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken breast, season with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning. Cook until the chicken is browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add Aromatics: Next, add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for another 3-4 minutes, until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
- Combine Rice and Liquid: Add the rice to the skillet, stirring to coat the grains with the flavors. Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked.
- Stir in the Cream: Once the rice is tender, stir in the heavy cream. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 2-3 minutes, which will enhance the creaminess of the dish.
- Garnish and Serve: Before serving, garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color and flavor.
Notes
