Description

A fast, comforting, and golden-crisp chicken breast recipe made in the air fryer, perfect for cozy autumn evenings.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6–8 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp onion powder, pinch of cayenne for heat

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken: Pat each chicken breast dry with paper towels. If breasts are uneven in thickness, gently pound them to an even 1/2-inch thickness for even cooking.
  2. Marinate briefly: In a small bowl, whisk olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, thyme, and any optional spices. Brush or rub the mixture over both sides of the chicken.
  3. Let sit 10–15 minutes at room temperature while the air fryer preheats.
  4. Preheat air fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Air-fry: Place chicken breasts in a single layer in the basket with space between pieces. Cook at 375°F for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Remove chicken and cover loosely with foil. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Make sure to use a meat thermometer to avoid dry chicken, and don’t overcrowd the basket for best results.
