Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your choice of cheese)
- 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or quinoa)
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
- Add vegetables: Once the beef is cooked, add the sliced onion and bell peppers to the skillet. Stir them in and cook for about 5 minutes until they are tender.
- Season the mix: Stir in the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
- Creamy addition: Reduce the heat to low and add the softened cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese is fully melted and combined.
- Assemble the bowl: In serving bowls, layer the cooked rice at the bottom. Top with the beef and vegetable mixture.
- Cheesy finish: Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top and allow it to melt. If you desire, place the bowls in the oven for a few minutes for a delicious, bubbly finish.
- Garnish and enjoy: Top your Ground Beef Philly Bowl with fresh parsley or chives and dig in!
