Description

A warm and comforting bowl that combines the delightful flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak in a cozy format, perfect for fall.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your choice of cheese)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or quinoa)
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
  2. Add vegetables: Once the beef is cooked, add the sliced onion and bell peppers to the skillet. Stir them in and cook for about 5 minutes until they are tender.
  3. Season the mix: Stir in the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
  4. Creamy addition: Reduce the heat to low and add the softened cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese is fully melted and combined.
  5. Assemble the bowl: In serving bowls, layer the cooked rice at the bottom. Top with the beef and vegetable mixture.
  6. Cheesy finish: Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top and allow it to melt. If you desire, place the bowls in the oven for a few minutes for a delicious, bubbly finish.
  7. Garnish and enjoy: Top your Ground Beef Philly Bowl with fresh parsley or chives and dig in!
