Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 egg, beaten
- Oil for frying
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Sliced green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken by marinating the pieces in a little soy sauce for about 15 minutes.
- Coat the chicken in beaten egg, then in cornstarch.
- Fry the chicken in hot oil for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Make the sauce by whisking together soy sauce, chicken broth, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Combine the fried chicken with the sauce in the pan and stir well to coat.
- Serve garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Ensure the oil is hot enough for frying. You can also bake the chicken for a healthier option. Adjust the spice level by reducing red pepper flakes if desired.
