Ingredients

  • 10 ounces of pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving about half a cup of the pasta water.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the garlic and butter. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes, then gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  4. Mix Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat it in the sauce. If the sauce appears too thick, gradually add some of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Season and Garnish: Season with salt and pepper to taste, then plate the pasta. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Optionally, add red pepper flakes for a kick.
