Description
A quick and delicious honey garlic chicken dish, perfect for busy weeknights. This recipe delivers a savory main course with a delightful sauce in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb total), cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker sauce)
2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley or sesame seeds
Instructions
Pat chicken pieces dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Whisk together honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl. Pour the sauce into the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
If desired, in a separate small bowl, whisk cornstarch with water until smooth. Stir the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the honey garlic sauce.
Serve immediately over rice or with your favorite vegetables. Garnish with fresh parsley or sesame seeds if desired.
