Description

A deliciously simple and quick baked fish recipe, perfect for a weeknight dinner. This recipe uses minimal ingredients and results in tender, flaky fish with bright, fresh flavors.

Ingredients

4 flaky fish portions (e.g., snapper, halibut, cod, tilapia)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 fresh lemon, sliced or juiced
1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (e.g., parsley, dill, chives)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Pat the fish portions dry with paper towels. This helps them cook evenly and prevents steaming.
Place the fish on the prepared baking sheet.
Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the fish portions.
Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over each fish fillet.
Arrange lemon slices on top of the fish, or squeeze fresh lemon juice over them.
Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your fish.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs before serving.
Serve immediately with your favorite simple sides like a green salad or roasted vegetables.
