Description
A delightful dish bringing together tender chicken, a crunchy coating, and a sweet-savory sesame sauce, perfect for cozy evenings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup of cornstarch
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup of breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
- 1/2 cup of sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup of honey
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
- Sesame oil for frying
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Begin by marinating your chicken pieces in a mixture of soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar for at least 30 minutes.
- Coat the chicken: Set up three bowls for dredging with cornstarch, beaten eggs, and a breadcrumb-sesame mixture. Coat each chicken piece in cornstarch, dip in egg, and cover with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Fry the chicken: Heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add coated chicken pieces and fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain and serve: Remove the chicken from the pan and let it drain on paper towels.
Notes
For the ultimate crunch, ensure your oil is hot before adding the chicken. If lower temperatures are used, the chicken will absorb more oil and become soggy.
