Description

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (or gluten-free tamari for a GF option)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Prepare the tofu: Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in paper towels and place a heavy object on top for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cube the tofu: Once pressed, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  3. Marinate the tofu: In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed tofu with soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Gently toss to ensure all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Coat with cornstarch: Sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu cubes and toss gently until each piece is coated.
  5. Preheat air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  6. Air fry the tofu: Place the tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Once done, enjoy your crispy air fryer tofu as a standalone snack or toss them in a salad or grain bowl.
