Description
A comforting dish featuring tender chicken simmered in a rich cream and zesty pepperoncini sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Sauté the onion and garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent. Toss in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Brown the chicken: Increase the heat to medium-high and place the chicken thighs in the skillet. Sear them on both sides until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Add the liquid ingredients: Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, making sure to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Incorporate the pepperoncini: Stir in the sliced pepperoncini, allowing their tangy flavor to meld with the creamy sauce.
- Simmer until cooked through: Reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet. Let it simmer for about 20-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve your Creamy Pepperoncini Chicken Skillet Dinner over rice, pasta, or alongside crusty bread.
Notes
Choose high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Letting the chicken simmer allows it to absorb all the flavors.
