Description

This delightful recipe captures the warmth of home-cooked meals while bringing a zesty brightness to the table with tender chicken, creamy sauce, and tangy lemons.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Juice and zest of 2 lemons
  • ¼ cup capers, drained and rinsed
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each piece in flour, shaking off the excess.
  2. Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add Cream and Lemon: Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 4-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Finish the Dish: Add the capers to the sauce. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with your choice of side—such as pasta or steamed vegetables.

Notes

Use fresh lemons for the best flavor. Don’t overcook the chicken to keep it juicy and tender. Adjust the sauce consistency as desired.
