Description
A comforting and delicious creamy lemon chicken dish that delights the taste buds and creates a warm dining experience.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup all-purpose flour (gluten-free alternative if necessary)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 lemon, freshly juiced
- 2 teaspoons capers
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
- ½ cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off any excess to ensure a light coating.
- Sear the chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the sauce: In the same skillet, pour the chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom. Add the capers and let the mixture simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
- Combine: Return the chicken to the skillet, and reduce the heat. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently to combine. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and envelop the chicken.
- Garnish and serve: Finally, garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor, and do not rush the cooking process to ensure juicy chicken.
