Description

A warm, creamy bowl of baked macaroni and cheese, perfect for cozy gatherings and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces of elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni in salted water until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  3. Make the cheese sauce by melting the butter in a saucepan, whisking in the flour, then gradually adding milk until thickened. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add cheddar and mozzarella cheese, stirring until melted.
  5. Combine the macaroni and cheese sauce in a large bowl until well-coated.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top if desired, and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Notes
