Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the chicken breasts by seasoning with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano.
- Assemble the dish by spreading half of the marinara sauce in a baking dish, placing the seasoned chicken on top, and covering with the remaining marinara sauce.
- Add the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake covered for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Allow the dish to rest before serving.
