Description
A comforting and cheesy side dish that combines baked potatoes with a golden twist, prepared perfectly in your air fryer.
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized russet or Yukon gold potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil or melted halal butter
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (chives or parsley)
Instructions
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt, then pat them dry with a clean towel.
- Make thin slices across the potatoes, about 1/8 inch apart, stopping just before cutting all the way through.
- Drizzle the olive oil or melted halal butter over the potatoes, ensuring it gets between the slices.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper generously over the potatoes for enhanced flavor.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t touch each other for even cooking.
- Cook for about 20 minutes, then check for doneness.
- Remove the basket and sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the potatoes.
- Return the basket to the air fryer and cook for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the potatoes cool for a few minutes before garnishing with freshly chopped herbs before serving.
Notes
Choose russet or Yukon gold potatoes for the best texture. Use chopsticks to prevent cutting all the way through the potatoes.
