Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 large bell peppers (any color)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or your favorite cheese variety)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the chicken.
  3. Slice the bell peppers into thin strips.
  4. Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish and layer the sliced peppers around them.
  5. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top.
  7. Bake covered with aluminum foil for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

For thicker chicken breasts, pound them to an even thickness. Experiment with different cheese varieties for unique flavors.
