Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 large bell peppers (any color)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or your favorite cheese variety)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the chicken.
- Slice the bell peppers into thin strips.
- Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in a baking dish and layer the sliced peppers around them.
- Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top.
- Bake covered with aluminum foil for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
Notes
For thicker chicken breasts, pound them to an even thickness. Experiment with different cheese varieties for unique flavors.
