Description

A warm and aromatic Indian dish that brings rich flavors and comfort, perfect for family meals.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs of boneless chicken thighs, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup of plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons of garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups of tomato puree
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, garam masala, cumin, red chili powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Add the chicken pieces and mix well until evenly coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, approximately 10-12 minutes.
  3. Pour in the tomato puree and stir well. Allow to simmer for about 15 minutes to meld flavors. Add the heavy cream and stir continuously until fully incorporated.
  4. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, if necessary. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for best flavor. You can add vegetables like bell peppers or peas for a healthier twist.
