Description

A delightful combination of tender chicken and crisp broccoli, coated in a mouthwatering sticky sauce that is easy to prepare and perfect for cozy autumn dining.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or a gluten-free alternative)
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by marinating the chicken pieces in a mixture of soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb all the flavors.
  2. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add the marinated chicken, spreading it out in a single layer. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Once the chicken is nearly done, add the fresh broccoli florets to the skillet. Pour in a splash of water to help steam the broccoli, covering the pan for a few minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender yet still crisp.
  4. After the broccoli is cooked, pour any remaining marinade over the chicken and broccoli. Let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens into a sticky glaze.
  5. Serve your sticky chicken and broccoli over steamed rice or quinoa, garnishing with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for an extra touch.

Notes

Ensure not to overcrowd the chicken in the skillet while cooking to achieve a perfect sear. Customize your sauce with red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. This dish is great for meal prep.
