Description
Enjoy the warm, comforting flavors of slow-cooked BBQ chicken with this easy pulled chicken recipe, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup BBQ sauce of your choice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Start by rinsing the chicken breasts under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels and place them at the bottom of the crockpot.
- Add the ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped onion, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and BBQ sauce. Pour this mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated.
- Season: Sprinkle salt and pepper generously over the top for added flavor.
- Cook: Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours. The chicken should be tender and easily shred with a fork.
- Shred and serve: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot. Use two forks to shred the chicken, then return it to the pot to soak up the remaining juices.
Notes
For added flavor, choose a tangy or sweet BBQ sauce. Avoid overcooking to keep the chicken moist.
