Description
A warm, gooey BBQ Chicken Grilled Cheese sandwich perfect for cozy evenings, featuring tender chicken, melted cheese, and smoky barbecue sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of sturdy bread (sourdough or Texas toast)
- 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Optional: sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken with barbecue sauce. Ensure it’s well coated.
- Assemble the Sandwich: On one slice of bread, layer the BBQ chicken mixture. Sprinkle cheese on top, and add any jalapeños if you like. Place the second slice of bread on top, pressing down gently.
- Butter the Bread: Spread butter on the outside of each slice of bread. This will help achieve that golden-brown crust.
- Cook the Sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Serve and Enjoy: Slice in half and serve warm, perhaps with a side of air-fryer broccoli for a nutritious addition to your meal.
Notes
Choose sturdy bread for best results, and try mixing different types of cheese for added flavor and texture.
