Description

A delightful seasonal treat, Baked Orange Chicken features zesty orange sauce and succulent chicken, perfect for cozy fall meals.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed for best flavor)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a mixing bowl.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the top. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and set aside. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the marinade to a simmer. Whisk together cornstarch and water, then stir into the saucepan.
  5. Pour the thickened marinade over the chicken and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.
  6. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

Marinating is key; the longer the chicken sits in the marinade, the more flavor it will absorb. Adjust the sweetness or saltiness of the sauce to your taste.
