Description
A delightful seasonal treat, Baked Orange Chicken features zesty orange sauce and succulent chicken, perfect for cozy fall meals.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed for best flavor)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Combine the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a mixing bowl.
- Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the top. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and set aside. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the marinade to a simmer. Whisk together cornstarch and water, then stir into the saucepan.
- Pour the thickened marinade over the chicken and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Notes
Marinating is key; the longer the chicken sits in the marinade, the more flavor it will absorb. Adjust the sweetness or saltiness of the sauce to your taste.
