Description

A cozy fall recipe for a juicy, flavorful whole roasted chicken with crispy skin, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (3-4 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, cut into quarters (optional)
  • Fresh herbs for garnishing (optional)


Instructions

  1. Pat the whole chicken dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the outside and inside of the chicken with olive oil.
  3. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  4. Generously apply the seasoning mix all over the chicken.
  5. Stuff the chicken cavity with lemon quarters and herbs if desired.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Carefully place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
  8. Cook for 30 minutes.
  9. After 30 minutes, flip the chicken breast-side up and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  10. Once cooked, remove the chicken and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes before carving.
  11. Serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Choose organic or free-range chickens for better flavor. Don’t skip the resting time for juicier meat.
