A cozy fall recipe for a juicy, flavorful whole roasted chicken with crispy skin, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken (3-4 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lemon, cut into quarters (optional)
- Fresh herbs for garnishing (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the whole chicken dry with paper towels.
- Rub the outside and inside of the chicken with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Generously apply the seasoning mix all over the chicken.
- Stuff the chicken cavity with lemon quarters and herbs if desired.
- Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Carefully place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, flip the chicken breast-side up and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes before carving.
- Serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
Choose organic or free-range chickens for better flavor. Don’t skip the resting time for juicier meat.
