Description

Experience the mouthwatering flavors of Air Fryer Prime Rib, perfect for family gatherings this fall.


Ingredients

  • 1 (4-5 lbs) prime rib roast (halal)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted halal butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried rosemary)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried thyme)
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard


Instructions

  1. Remove the prime rib from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 1 hour.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil or melted halal butter, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and Dijon mustard if using.
  3. Pat your roast dry with paper towels and generously rub the herb and spice mixture over the entire surface of the prime rib.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the prime rib in the air fryer basket fat side up and cook at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes.
  6. Reduce the temperature to 325°F (160°C) and continue cooking for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
  7. Check the internal temperature: 125°F (52°C) for rare, 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare, and 145°F (63°C) for medium.
  8. Remove the prime rib from the air fryer and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
  9. Slice the prime rib into thick pieces and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure your prime rib is cooked to desired doneness.
