Description

A comforting and creamy Air Fryer Macaroni Cheese recipe that’s perfect for chilly autumn nights.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • ½ cup bread crumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni: In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to the package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the cheese sauce: In the same saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add in the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and Dijon mustard (if using), stirring well. Gradually add sharp cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese, mixing continuously until the cheeses are melted and the mixture is creamy.
  3. Combine: Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce. Stir gently until the pasta is well coated in the cheesy goodness. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste.
  4. Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese mixture into a baking dish that fits your air fryer. Optionally, sprinkle the top with bread crumbs for a delightful crunch. Air fry for 10-15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Carefully remove the dish from the air fryer and let it sit for a minute before serving. Enjoy warm!
