Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized russet potatoes (or your preferred variety)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme) for garnish
  • Optional: Grated cheese or cooked bacon for a topping


Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes: Start by thoroughly washing the potatoes to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Slice the potatoes: Carefully slice the potatoes crosswise, making thin cuts about 1/4 inch apart. Be sure not to cut all the way through; leave about 1/4 inch at the bottom to hold the potato together.
  3. Season the potatoes: In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture generously over each potato, ensuring it seeps into the slices.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  5. Air fry the potatoes: Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket. Cook for 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through for even crispness.
