Description
Elevate your meals this fall with homemade Air Fryer Crispy Onions. These delicious, crispy onions add rich flavor and crunch to salads and casseroles.
Ingredients
- 2 large onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or a gluten-free substitute)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Cooking spray or olive oil
Instructions
- Prepare the onions: Peel and slice the onions thinly. A mandoline slicer can make this task easier.
- Coat the onions: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss the sliced onions in the flour mixture until well coated.
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the onions: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or lightly coat it with olive oil. Spread the coated onion slices in a single layer in the basket.
- Cooking: Air fry the onions for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Cool and serve: Once golden brown and crispy, remove the onions and let them cool on a paper towel.
Notes
Store crispy onions in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer and then transfer to an airtight bag.
