Deliciously sticky and spicy chicken skewers made in the air fryer, perfect for cozy gatherings and fall vibes.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- Wooden or metal skewers (soaked if wooden)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the chicken: Pat the chicken cubes dry, then toss with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Assemble skewers: Thread 4–5 pieces of chicken onto each skewer, leaving space for air circulation.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3 minutes. Arrange the skewers in a single layer in the basket.
- Air-fry: Cook at 380°F for 8 minutes, flip the skewers, then cook for an additional 4–6 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Make the sauce: Whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, and lime juice until smooth.
- Finish and serve: Brush the sauce over the hot skewers and sprinkle with chopped chives.
Notes
For best results, cut chicken into uniform pieces and ensure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket.
