Description
A quick and delicious sesame chicken dish that can be made in just 20 minutes using an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Start by cutting the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
- Marinate: In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the chicken pieces and let them marinate for about 10 minutes.
- Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the marinated chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Finishing touch: Once the chicken is golden and cooked through, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and give it an additional 2 minutes in the air fryer.
- Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped green onions before serving, and enjoy the dish alongside steamed rice or a salad.
Notes
For best results, cut chicken into uniform pieces and don’t overcrowd the air fryer. Adjust sweetness based on preference, and feel free to experiment with seasonings.
