Description

These Sweet & Savory Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots are a cozy fall side dish that’s buttery, gently spiced, and naturally sweet. Ready in minutes and perfect for holidays or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and sliced diagonally (or baby carrots)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: ¼ teaspoon cinnamon or fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel carrots, then slice diagonally. If using baby carrots, rinse and pat dry.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Stir in brown sugar and honey until combined and slightly bubbly.
  4. Add carrots and toss to coat in glaze.
  5. Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fork-tender and glossy.
  6. Add a splash of water if glaze thickens too quickly.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper.
  8. Optional: add cinnamon or chopped thyme before serving.
  9. Serve warm as a side dish to roasted meats or grain bowls.

Notes

Use fresh carrots for best flavor and texture. Avoid overcooking to keep them tender but not mushy. Maple syrup can be used in place of honey for a fall-inspired twist.
