Description
A delightful and moist chocolate chip banana bread recipe that fills your kitchen with the comforting aroma of cinnamon and ripe bananas.
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp fine salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (120ml) neutral oil
- 1/4 cup (60ml) plain yogurt
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 3 very ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate large bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until combined. Add oil, yogurt, vanilla, and mashed bananas; mix until smooth.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet until just combined—do not overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.
Notes
Avoid overbaking to preserve the signature moisture. If the top browns too quickly, tent with foil for the last 10–15 minutes of baking.
