Description
A flaky, creamy Strawberry Danish made easy with puff pastry, cream cheese, and strawberry jam. The perfect balance of buttery layers and fruity sweetness, just like your favorite bakery treat.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam (or sliced fresh strawberries)
- 1 egg white
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp milk or cream (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4 squares.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spoon a tablespoon of cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
- Add a spoonful of strawberry jam or fresh strawberry slices on top of the cream cheese.
- Fold the corners slightly inward or leave open for a rustic look.
- Brush edges with egg white for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then mix powdered sugar with milk and drizzle over the top.
Notes
Make sure puff pastry is chilled but pliable. For a twist, use raspberry or apricot jam, or top with roasted strawberries for deeper flavor.
