Description

A flaky, creamy Strawberry Danish made easy with puff pastry, cream cheese, and strawberry jam. The perfect balance of buttery layers and fruity sweetness, just like your favorite bakery treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam (or sliced fresh strawberries)
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp milk or cream (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4 squares.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Spoon a tablespoon of cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
  5. Add a spoonful of strawberry jam or fresh strawberry slices on top of the cream cheese.
  6. Fold the corners slightly inward or leave open for a rustic look.
  7. Brush edges with egg white for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 15–18 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly, then mix powdered sugar with milk and drizzle over the top.

Notes

Make sure puff pastry is chilled but pliable. For a twist, use raspberry or apricot jam, or top with roasted strawberries for deeper flavor.
