Ingredients
- 6 large eggs, hard-boiled
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- ½ teaspoon vinegar or lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Black olives (pitted, whole or halved)
- Paprika, optional, for dusting
Instructions
- Boil the eggs until firm, then cool, peel, and slice each one lengthwise.
- Scoop the yolks into a bowl and set whites aside.
- Mash yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar or lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Fill egg white halves with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
- Slice black olives in half—use one half for the spider body.
- Cut the other half into thin strips to create spider legs and arrange them around the body.
- Sprinkle with paprika if desired for added color.
Notes
Boil eggs for 9–10 minutes and chill immediately for easy peeling. Prepare the yolk filling ahead, but assemble just before serving for freshest look. For variation, add hot sauce or herbs, or tint the filling with food coloring for Halloween flair.
