Description

Smash Burger Tacos are where bold flavor meets crave-worthy comfort. A weeknight hero and viral sensation that’s fast, crispy, juicy, and customizable.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 8 small flour tortillas (6-inch)
  • 8 slices American or cheddar cheese
  • Pickles, sliced
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced onions
  • Special sauce (mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter for greasing pan


Instructions

  1. Roll ground beef into 2-ounce balls without packing tightly.
  2. Heat cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and grease lightly with oil or butter.
  3. Place a tortilla on the skillet, then add a beef ball on top and press it flat with a spatula until it spreads to the tortilla’s edge.
  4. Season beef with salt and pepper, and cook beef-side up for 3–4 minutes until browned and sizzling.
  5. Flip the taco so the beef side hits the skillet. Add cheese on top and let melt for 1–2 minutes while the tortilla crisps.
  6. Remove from skillet and top with pickles, lettuce, onions, and special sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

These tacos cook fast, so have your toppings ready. Keep finished tacos warm in the oven if making large batches.
