Description

A fast and comforting chicken recipe infused with garlic and buttery flavors, perfect for a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds boneless chicken thighs or breasts, trimmed
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth or white wine
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Optional: a pinch of red pepper flakes for warmth

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and thyme.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, warm 1 tablespoon of butter and the olive oil until shimmering.
  3. Add the chicken and sear 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chicken to a plate.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add the remaining butter to the skillet. When it melts, add the minced garlic and sauté 30–45 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth (or white wine) and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits. Let sauce simmer 1–2 minutes.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over each piece. Cook another 3–4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and a pinch of red pepper flakes if using, then serve immediately.

Notes

Pat the chicken dry for better browning and monitor garlic carefully to avoid burning.
