Description

This Puff Pastry Wrapped Brie with Fig Jam brings together creamy, melted Brie, buttery puff pastry, and sweet fig jam for an unforgettable fall appetizer. Elegant enough for guests, easy enough for any night in.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 small wheel of Brie (about 8 oz)
  • 23 tablespoons fig jam
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Optional: chopped pecans
  • Optional: rosemary sprigs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface and gently roll out the puff pastry to smooth creases.
  3. Place the Brie in the center of the pastry. Spoon fig jam on top and spread evenly. Add pecans or rosemary if using.
  4. Fold the pastry edges over the Brie, sealing the bundle. Flip it seam-side down onto the baking sheet.
  5. Whisk egg and water together, then brush over the pastry.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Let the baked Brie rest before cutting to avoid all the cheese running out. Brie rind is edible and adds a nice texture. For variation, try apricot or raspberry jam, or a savory twist with caramelized onions.
