Ingredients
- 4 slices of hearty bread (sourdough or whole grain)
- 1/2 cup of fresh basil pesto
- 1 cup of fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: cherry tomatoes, arugula, or balsamic glaze for a drizzle
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the bread by laying out the slices and drizzling one side with olive oil.
- Spread a tablespoon of basil pesto on the opposite side of the bread slices.
- Add fresh mozzarella on top of the pesto and layer any additional toppings if using.
- Season with salt and pepper, then top with another slice of bread, oiled side facing out.
- Air fry the toasties in the basket for 5 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm after cooling for a minute, drizzling with balsamic glaze if desired.
