Description
Enjoy the comforting aroma and flavor of perfectly cooked ribeye steaks, a staple for cozy dinners with family and friends.
Ingredients
- 2 ribeye steaks (about 1-inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Optional: lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the steaks: Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
- Season the steaks: Pat them dry with a paper towel, drizzle with olive oil, and season generously with kosher salt and black pepper.
- Heat the pan: Use a heavy-bottomed skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
- Sear the steaks: Add the seasoned ribeye steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes without moving.
- Add flavor: Flip the steaks, add minced garlic, rosemary, and butter, spooning the flavored butter over the steaks as they cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare.
- Check for doneness: Use a meat thermometer to ensure they reach 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- Rest the steaks: Remove from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy: Slice against the grain and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Allow the steaks to come to room temperature before cooking for even cooking; do not crowd the pan.
