Transform simple potatoes into a delightful treat with these Loaded French Fries, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights in.
Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes (or your favorite variety)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled halal bacon (or a halal alternative)
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup sour cream (or a non-dairy alternative)
Instructions
- Prepare the potatoes: Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into evenly-sized fries, about 1/4 inch thick. Soak the fries in water for at least 30 minutes.
- Season the fries: Drain the potatoes and pat them dry. Toss them with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until coated.
- Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Place the fries in a single layer in the basket and cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- Load the fries: Remove the fries, sprinkle cheese and bacon over them, then return them to the air fryer for 3-5 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Garnish and serve: Top with green onions and sour cream. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
Ensure fries are of uniform size for even cooking and don’t skip soaking for crispy texture.
