Description
A simple and comforting recipe for Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts that balances sweet and savory, perfect for a cozy fall meal.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1½–2 pounds)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/3 cup honey
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (gluten-free if needed)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking dish with parchment for easy cleanup.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides lightly with salt, pepper and smoked paprika.
- Whisk together olive oil, honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar and Dijon mustard until smooth in a small bowl.
- Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish and pour half the glaze over the breasts, turning to coat. Reserve the other half for basting.
- Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Baste the chicken with the reserved glaze halfway through baking and return to the oven. For a caramelized finish, switch to broil for the last 1–2 minutes—watch closely to prevent burning.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley and drizzle any pan juices over the top.
Notes
Bring chicken to room temperature before baking for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
