Description

A simple and comforting recipe for Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts that balances sweet and savory, perfect for a cozy fall meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1½–2 pounds)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking dish with parchment for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides lightly with salt, pepper and smoked paprika.
  3. Whisk together olive oil, honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar and Dijon mustard until smooth in a small bowl.
  4. Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish and pour half the glaze over the breasts, turning to coat. Reserve the other half for basting.
  5. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Baste the chicken with the reserved glaze halfway through baking and return to the oven. For a caramelized finish, switch to broil for the last 1–2 minutes—watch closely to prevent burning.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley and drizzle any pan juices over the top.

Notes

Bring chicken to room temperature before baking for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
