A cozy and creamy pasta dish with seasoned minced beef, perfect for weeknight dinners and family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (use your preferred halal ground beef)
- 2 cups small pasta (elbow, shells, or mini rotini)

- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups low-sodium beef or vegetable broth
- 1 cup milk (dairy or unsweetened plant milk)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt, to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Optional: 1 cup frozen peas or corn, stirred in at the end
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté 3–4 minutes until translucent.

- Stir in minced garlic and cook 30 seconds more.
- Add the tomato paste, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper; stir to coat the meat.
- Pour in the broth and milk, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Stir in the dry pasta. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar until melted and smooth.
- Fold in frozen peas or corn if using. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.
Notes
For a creamier texture, stir in a tablespoon of cream cheese or a splash of cream at the end.
