Ingredients
- 6 cups peeled, cored, and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup cold unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and flour in a large bowl. Toss until well-coated and spread in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon in another bowl. Add cold butter and combine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apple mixture.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes or until apples are bubbly and topping is golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream.
