Description

Delightful, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside air fryer smashed potatoes, perfect for a cozy fall treat.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs baby or new potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme) for garnish (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese (optional) for a cheesy twist

Instructions

  1. Rinse your baby potatoes under cold water.
  2. Place them in a large pot and cover with water. Add a generous pinch of salt and bring to a boil.
  3. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.
  6. Place each potato on a flat surface, like a cutting board, and gently press down with a fork or the bottom of a cup to smash them.
  7. Combine the smashed potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Toss well to coat.
  8. Place the seasoned smashed potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket and air fry for 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
  9. Remove from the air fryer and sprinkle with fresh herbs or grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Use uniform potatoes for even cooking and feel free to experiment with seasonings.
